MICHAEL PENDLEY

PRESIDENT

Michael Pendley is the founder of Pendley Consulting.  Michael has over 40 years of practical experience in metallurgical engineering, primarily in the oil and gas sector.  His areas of particular expertise include oilfield metallurgy, heat treating, failure analysis, welding, material selection, specifications, and training.  Michael holds a BS degree in materials science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a masters degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Tennesseee.  He has served in senior metallurgy positions for major OEM’s including National Oilwell Varco, Cameron, Schlumberger, and Baker Hughes.  Michael’s other adventures include managing a heat treating company,  heading up North America sales  for a Brazilian specialty alloys mill, and doing failure analysis full time as senior analyst for a leading firm.   He has authored various technical publications including  a text on hardenability and a paper on sulfide stress cracking in steels. Michael is an adjunct professor of metallurgy at Lone Star College.  In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking and playing golf.
